Ready to combine deal‑making with doing the right thing? As an ESO Category Buyer (External Supplier Operation), you’ll own the commercial agenda across ESO‑managed categories – from strategic sourcing and tough negotiations to supplier performance management. At the same time, you’ll be a key player in embedding ESG, sustainability and regulatory compliance into everything we do, ensuring robust EcoVadis engagement and precise Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions reporting that supports our position in a highly regulated healthcare and pharmaceutical environment.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Drive end‑to‑end procurement for ESO‑managed categories, from sourcing and negotiation through contracting, ensuring value, supply continuity and compliance with internal governance.
- Act as the key procurement partner for assigned categories, shaping category and sourcing strategies, engaging suppliers and managing performance against commercial, service and quality KPIs.
- Lead or support commercial negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favourable terms and robust contractual obligations, delivering measurable cost savings and COGS reduction.
- Embed ESG and sustainability requirements into supplier contracts, ensuring clear, measurable and enforceable obligations, and hold suppliers to defined ESG standards (including EcoVadis expectations).
- Enable accurate Scope 1–3 emissions reporting and customer sustainability submissions by coordinating validated supplier data, audit evidence and ESG documentation.
- Collaborate across Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality, Legal and Commercial to integrate ESG, regulatory and risk considerations into procurement decisions, underpinned by effective PO‑to‑Pay processes, KPI reporting and governance.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience working in a procurement, supply chain or commercial role, ideally within a regulated environment (pharmaceutical, healthcare, FMCG or manufacturing).
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to analyse costs and to dive into contracts and supplier proposals – ultimately to work with suppliers to build valuable deals.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience supporting supplier ESG, sustainability or compliance activities.
- Familiarity with ESG frameworks, supplier assessments or sustainability reporting concepts (e.g. EcoVadis, Scope 3).
- Knowledge of SAP or similar procurement systems.
- Experience working with suppliers in a regulated industry environment.
