Position Overview: Are you a skilled GIS Analyst looking for an opportunity to contribute to the future of energy transmission? National Grid's Strategic Infrastructure team is seeking a talented GIS Analyst to join our dynamic and innovative projects. As a GIS Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and maintenance of geospatial data and applications for our strategic infrastructure initiatives. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and assist in the development of web maps and apps using ArcGIS Pro, ESRI Enterprise Portal for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Online for strategic infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide guidance on the best approaches for web map and app design.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in GIS technology, including ESRI Enterprise Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of geospatial databases, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to ensure seamless integration of GIS systems and data.
- Utilisation of automated geospatial process technologies (e.g. FME and Python).
- Authoring geospatial standards and validating data against those standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as a GIS analyst on geospatial data management.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ESRI Enterprise Portal for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Online, including the ability to create web maps and apps.
- Strong understanding of cartographic principles and best practices for map design.
- Familiarity with spatial data standards, projections, and coordinate systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality maps.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
