- Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and drive corrective actions
- Clear reporting and escalation of quality concerns across all levels
- Good-to-Have: Experience with Class A surfaces, paint finish, and interior trim evaluations
- Exposure to Q-DAS, Minitab, or other statistical quality software
- Experience working with Tier 1 suppliers on incoming quality and PPAP
- Knowledge of defect reduction strategies that support waste minimisation and recyclability
- Understanding of how perceived quality impacts customer satisfaction and brand image
- Experience supporting launches across multiple regions or platforms
- Experience working with multi-region vehicle platforms or global launches
Responsibilities / Expectations from the Role:
As a Quality Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all parts and systems meet launch quality standards and fit & finish expectations derived from engineering specifications and customer requirements.
- Work across vehicle programs to validate part conformance, manage quality gates, and drive issue resolution from prototype through Job 1
- Lead part conformance activities for assigned commodities, ensuring alignment with fit & finish, dimensional, and functional specifications
- Support build phases (VP, TT, PP, Job 1) by validating part quality and driving issue resolution
- Conduct visual and tactile assessments of interior and exterior components for surface quality, gaps, flushness, and tactile feel
- Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve quality concerns
- Manage AIMS (Automated Issue Management System) and drive root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions
- Support quality gateways and launch readiness reviews
- Interface with suppliers to ensure incoming part quality and adherence to control plans
- Provide feedback to engineering teams for design-for-quality improvements
