Job Purpose and Primary Objectives
To provide expert guidance, configuration, and optimization of Salesforce Maps (including Territory Planning & Advanced Routing) to help the customer maximise field operations, account coverage, visit frequency, and routing efficiency. The consultant will work closely with Sales Cloud stakeholders to design and implement geo-based solutions that enhance productivity and deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Maximise utilisation of Salesforce Maps capabilities within existing CG Cloud / Sales Cloud licences
- Define geo-based rules and criteria to identify priority accounts, especially for promotional periods
- Improve and fine-tune the route generation engine to deliver more efficient, optimised travel paths
- Extend Salesforce Maps usage to additional teams such as Quality / Compliance / Field Audits
- Provide best practice recommendations and ensure strong adoption among field and sales teams
Key Responsibilities
Position Type: Individual contributor, part of a team
- Conduct discovery sessions with Sales, Field, and Quality teams to understand current challenges and improvement areas
- Configure Salesforce Maps, including:
- Route optimisation & mobile routing
- Territory planning & balancing
- Proximity searches, boundary layers, and geo-fencing
- Visit frequency rules & schedule optimisation
- Location-based automation and rule-based visit planning
- Sales attributes
- Geography / region / coverage
- Promotional windows
- Field performance data
Supervisory / Managerial Responsibilities
- Report to line manager

Key Skills / Knowledge
- Salesforce Maps Expertise (Mandatory)
- Hands-on configuration experience with:
- Salesforce Maps

- Geolocation & spatial data configuration
- Visit / cadence management
- Geo analytics & proximity modelling
- Defining routing constraints and optimisation parameters
- Map layers, boundaries, polygons, and geographic data structures
- Salesforce Platform Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Sales Cloud data model (Accounts, Leads, Opportunities)
- Experience configuring standard objects and workflows related to field operations
- Ability to design solutions without heavy code (declarative-first approach)
- Familiarity with Salesforce mobile configuration
- Field Sales / Trade Sales / Merchandising process understanding
- Ability to translate business priorities (e.g., promotional periods) into geo-based visit rules
- Strong analytical skills to model territories and visit patterns
- Workshop facilitation, requirement gathering, and documentation
- Salesforce Field Service (FSL)
- GIS tools (ArcGIS, Esri, shape files, geospatial enrichment)
- Salesforce Data Cloud exposure (Geo enrichment, segmentation)
- Apex / Flow knowledge for deeper automation
Experience Required
- 5-8+ years overall Salesforce experience
- 2+ years directly working with Salesforce Maps, Maps Advanced, or Territory Planning
- Proven experience implementing:
- Route optimisation
- Territory planning
- Visit scheduling for field or quality teams
