The Role: A seasoned Magento expert with a decade of experience in architecting, developing, and optimizing large scale e-commerce platforms. Skilled in Magento 2 custom module development, performance tuning, and complex third-party integrations. Leads technical strategy, solution design, and best practice implementation across multi-store and multi-region setups. Experienced in managing end to end project lifecycles, including requirement analysis, sprint planning, and release management. Collaborates closely with cross functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions.
Your Responsibilities:
- Own solution architecture: Design scalable Magento 2/Adobe Commerce architectures (B2C/B2B), define module boundaries, integration patterns, and data flows; make build vs. buy calls.
- Lead complex deliveries: Break down epics, estimate, plan sprints, deal risk dependencies, and ensure on time, quality releases across multi-store and multi-region setups.
- Hands-on development: Implement high impact backend modules (DI, plugins, observers, service contracts, APIs) and guide frontend (PWA/Knockout) where needed.
- Performance & scalability: Profile and tune PHP/MySQL, indexing, caching layers (Varnish/Redis), search (Elasticsearch/OpenSearch), and CDN strategy to meet SLAs.
- Security & compliance: Enforce secure coding, patching cadence, PCI considerations, access controls, and data protection practices.
- Integration leadership: Architect/oversee robust integrations with ERPs, CRMs, payment/shipping providers, search, and marketing platforms (via REST/GraphQL/webhooks/middleware).
- DevOps & environments: Champion CI/CD, branching strategy, code quality gates, containerized environments (Docker), infra configuration (NGINX/Apache), and observability.
- Code quality & governance: Set coding standards (PSR, PHPCS, PHPStan), conduct deep code reviews, enforce test coverage (PHPUnit/MFTF), and manage tech debt.
- Mentorship & team growth: Coach developers, run design reviews, pair programming, learning plans, and build a high ownership engineering culture.
- Stakeholder management: Translate business goals into technical roadmaps, align with product/UX/QA/DevOps, and communicate risks, trade-offs, and timelines clearly.

Essential Skills / Knowledge / Experience:
- Expert in Magento 2 architecture & custom development - deep knowledge of modules, DI, plugins, observers, service contracts, APIs (REST/GraphQL), multi store setups, and performance tuning.
- Strong backend & frontend capabilities - PHP 7/8, MySQL, Composer, MVC, HTML/CSS, JS, Knockout.js, theme development, and experience with Hyv/PWA Studio.
- DevOps, deployment & scalability skills - Git, CI/CD, caching (Varnish/Redis), and security best practices.
- Leadership & integration expertise - able to design solutions, lead teams, review code, optimize performance, and integrate Magento with ERPs, CRMs, payment gateways, and enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
