The Role
Your Responsibilities:
- Electrical transmission modeling, EMS Application Engineer, GE PowerOn Reliance / XA21, GE eTerra Platform, Power System Applications.
- Hands-on experience with Energy Management System (EMS) / Generation Monitoring and Control applications.
- Software development experience with C / C++ / Java and SQL.
- Experience working with communication protocols: IEC 60870-5-101/104, DNP3, Modbus, ICCP, OPC.
Your Profile
Desirable Skills / Knowledge / Experience:
- Over 5 years of experience in Power System Applications (Generation): Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Load Frequency Control, Load Forecasting, Economic Dispatch, Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, and Operator Training Simulator (OTS).
- Hands-on expertise preferably on GE PowerOn Reliance (XA21) and/or AEMS/GDC Platform Software, as well as EMS platforms from Siemens, OSI, ABB, Schneider, etc.
- Proficient in both Linux and Windows operating environments.
- Experience with communication protocols: IEC 60870-5-101/104, DNP3, Modbus, ICCP, OPC.
- Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- Experience in programming languages for system integration or scripting, such as C, C++, PERL, or similar.
- Proficiency in SQL, Shell scripting, and ability to read and interpret logs and debug files.
- Experience in installing fixes on live customer systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Ability to administer and optimize the Energy Management System (EMS) through application configuration, tuning, and security patching.
- Perform necessary technical corrective actions to restore failed or failing technical services on EMS systems.
- Conduct code review, deployment, testing, and monitoring of break/fix patches and modifications.
