About StackGuardian: At StackGuardian, we are building the future of compliant cloud orchestration, simplifying how enterprises deliver secure, scalable, and automated infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Our mission is simple but ambitious: help developers, SREs, and security teams move fast without breaking compliance. We are a rapidly growing startup backed by leading European investors and trusted by enterprises building modern cloud-native platforms.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the Backend Team: Build, coach, and grow a strong backend engineering team working primarily in Python and Go, collaborating closely with AI, Data, DevOps, QA, and frontend teams across Europe and Asia.
- Own Backend Architecture & Roadmap: Drive the design and evolution of backend services, APIs, orchestration workflows, and internal platforms, including AI-enabled components and agent-driven automation.
- Stay Hands-On: Contribute directly to production code, participate in architecture reviews, and guide design decisions for backend systems, workflow orchestration, and policy-driven automation.
- Deliver Enterprise-Grade Reliability: Ensure backend services meet high standards for scalability, security, observability, and performance, aligned with enterprise SLAs and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate Across Product & UX: Work closely with product managers and UX designers to translate real-world customer needs into robust, developer-friendly backend capabilities.
- Mentor & Set Standards: Establish backend best practices, lead code reviews, and foster a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Backend Leadership Experience: 5+ years in backend engineering roles, with proven experience leading backend teams in startups or scale-ups.
- SaaS Platform Experience: Hands-on experience building or scaling enterprise SaaS platforms, ideally in DevSecOps, cloud security, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), or developer tooling domains.
- Strong Technical Foundation: Deep experience with Python (Django/FastAPI) and/or Go, microservices architecture, and distributed backend systems.
- Product & Architecture Ownership: Track record of owning backend systems from early design through scale, with a strong focus on reliability, compliance, and user experience.
- Cloud & Infrastructure Awareness: Solid understanding of AWS (EC2, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway) and familiarity with IaC tools such as Terraform, CDK, or Bicep.
- AI/ML Expertise: Experience in integrating AI-powered workflows into backend services.
- Collaborative Mindset: Coachable, pragmatic, comfortable with ambiguity, and firmly non-bureaucratic. You lead through influence and example, not hierarchy.
Why Join StackGuardian:
- Backend Ownership with Real Impact: You’ll shape the core systems that enterprises rely on to automate and govern cloud infrastructure.
- Autonomy & Trust: No red tape - just ownership, accountability, and space to do your best work.
- Competitive Compensation + Early Equity: Join at a stage where your contribution has meaningful upside.
- Direct Access to Leadership: Work closely with the CTO and founding team on product and architectural decisions.
- Culture of Innovation: Dedicated R&D time, hackathons, and opportunities to influence the broader engineering direction.
