Role Summary
On the search for a Senior Credit Strategy Specialist to join a fast-paced and dynamic Credit Strategy Team in Line 1. This role will focus on designing and implementing lending strategies for the organisation’s products, with an emphasis on acquisition strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit risk and lending (Extending Credit Limits), with the ability to work independently and guide junior team members when required.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lending strategies based on competitive data analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of strategies.
- Lead projects and contribute to the design of borrower journeys for new products.
- Analyse performance metrics and optimise strategies post-launch.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts within the team.
- Communicate insights and findings effectively to stakeholders.
Technical and Soft Skills Required
Technical Skills:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in credit risk analytics, preferably within an SME or retail lending environment.
- Sound proficiency in SQL (or R, SAS, Python also considered).
- Advanced Excel skills – this will be tested in the interview process.
- Experience with data analysis and strategy development in retail or SME lending.
- Demonstrated success in leading strategic and operational transformations within an organisation.
- Familiarity with coding languages (Python, R) is a plus but not required.
