Our client is a fast-growing, forward-thinking Managing General Agent (MGA) with ambitious plans for the future. They are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Officer to join their thriving business and play a key role in maintaining high underwriting and compliance standards.

The Role

As a Quality Assurance Officer, you will conduct Quality Assurance Audits within the Underwriting Service Department to monitor adherence to underwriting guidelines and licence authorities. You’ll also analyse compliance standards to ensure ongoing alignment with regulatory requirements. You will proactively identify areas for improvement and work collaboratively with internal teams to implement effective remedial actions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct monthly Technical Quality Assurance Audits across the Underwriting Services Department and Key Account Manager Teams.
  • Provide timely feedback, ensuring agreed remedial actions are implemented within set timescales.
  • Liaise with Technical Underwriting and IT teams to resolve process or system issues and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Accurately record any breaches or issues identified.
  • Support the production of management information, audit reports, and monthly performance results.
  • Assist with trend analysis to identify improvement opportunities, training needs, and potential risk areas.
  • Escalate critical or highly rated issues to the Head of Compliance and contribute to the development of the QA Framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Undertake ad hoc QA duties or projects and provide support to the Agency and Compliance Administrator to ensure service levels to brokers are maintained.

  • Strong knowledge of FCA Rules and Regulations.
  • A proactive, flexible attitude with the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads independently.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders and promote a culture of compliance.
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on improving working processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with exceptional attention to detail.
