Trump Turnberry is recruiting for a casual groom to join the team on an as-and-when-required basis.
Position Purpose
To welcome guests to the stables and lead them through their chosen activity according to the Trump Hotels standards as well as observing all safety standards. Care for all animals and monitor their welfare and behaviour on a daily basis and report any abnormalities promptly to your direct supervisor.
Essential Functions
- Ensure prompt, efficient and courteous reception of guests
- Record and administer all check-ins for activities
- Carry out all daily duties according to the department's checklist independently, in cooperation with your co-workers
- Ensure guest’s immediate requirements are catered for and their safety is prioritised at all times
- Carry out all duties relating to the care of our animals, including but not limited to:
- Grooming and washing of horses to the required standard
- Tacking up
- Monitor the fit of tack
- Exercising and training
- Turning horses out to pasture and bringing them in
- Mucking out and feeding
- Emergency 1st aid for any injuries
- Field care and maintenance (poo picking, weed control, trough cleaning, etc)
- Tack and equipment care
- Attend to horses for vets and farrier visits
- Administering any required veterinary and routine treatments
- General stable duties
Candidate Specifications
- Must be eligible to live and work in the UK
- Polite, courteous, friendly and welcoming person
- Passionate about delivering excellence in customer service and caring for our animals
- Previous experience in handling and riding horses is required, driving experience is a bonus
- Smart and well-presented with a positive attitude
- Must be able to communicate and converse freely in English
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment and operate machinery
- Equine qualifications preferred but not essential
