Volunteer Content Creator wanted for our charity shop in East Leeds (near the Irish Centre). Create Instagram/TikTok content promoting sustainable fashion and community impact. Flexible role averaging 1.5–2 hours weekly.
This role will help us reach more people in our local community, grow awareness of our charity shop and increase the income that supports the wider work of our centre in East Leeds. Every sale in our shop helps fund support for local people facing hardship, isolation and other challenges. By creating engaging and relatable social media content, the volunteer will help connect people not only to sustainable fashion and affordable shopping, but also to the real impact their purchases make in the community.
We want to show that charity shopping can be creative, stylish and meaningful. The volunteer’s work will help attract new customers, younger audiences and people who may not already know about our centre or the support we provide. Their content could directly increase footfall, donations and community engagement. This role is also an opportunity to shape the voice and online identity of the shop.
We are looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas, creativity and personality to our social media presence while helping us tell authentic stories about community impact and sustainability. As a volunteer, they will become part of a welcoming and supportive team and will be able to see the direct difference their work makes locally. Their creativity will help strengthen a community resource that supports people every day.
What are we looking for?
- Someone creative, enthusiastic and community-minded who enjoys storytelling and social media.
- A person with experience in content creation, charity retail, sustainable fashion or digital marketing.
- Confidence using platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
- A good understanding of the kind of content that engages people online.
- Comfortable filming and editing short‑form videos using a smartphone or simple editing apps.
We are particularly looking for someone who:
- Has creative ideas and a good eye for content.
- Can create engaging, authentic and relatable posts.
- Understands social media trends and audience engagement.
- Is reliable and able to communicate consistently.
- Enjoys working with people in a friendly community environment.
An interest in charity shopping, thrifting, sustainable fashion or community work would be a big plus, but formal qualifications are not required. We care more about enthusiasm, creativity and willingness to get involved than professional experience. The most important qualities are creativity, reliability and the ability to tell stories in a way that helps people connect with our mission.
We want someone who can help show that every purchase in our charity shop supports real people and positive community impact.
What will you be doing?

Key responsibilities include:
- Creating and editing short‑form social media content.
- Filming occasional on‑site content in the charity shop.
- Suggesting creative ideas, trends and content themes.
- Helping us build a regular and engaging online presence.
- Supporting values‑led storytelling that connects shopping with community impact.
