Build local relationships that help sustain hospice care
At St Vincent's Hospice, our communities play an important part in helping us care for local patients and families.
We are recruiting a Fundraiser as part of a coordinated recruitment campaign across our income generation team. Following a review of how responsibilities are organised, we have shaped complementary roles with a clear focus on building relationships, delivering effective fundraising and providing excellent supporter care.
About the role
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys meeting people, developing ideas and turning conversations into practical support.
You will build relationships with local businesses, schools, groups and individuals, helping them take part in fundraising activities, events and campaigns. Your work will include community visits, delivering talks, developing collecting-can host relationships and supporting bucket collections.
Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, you will work towards agreed income and activity targets and maintain clear records of opportunities and follow-up actions.
You will work closely with the Income Generation Assistant, who coordinates central bookings, volunteer arrangements and practical administration, while you focus on developing relationships and growing support.
What you will bring
Relevant experience could come from fundraising, sales, customer engagement, business development, communications, marketing, events or community activity.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Approach new people and build positive relationships.
- Explain an opportunity confidently and ask for support.
- Organise visits, activities and follow-up.
- Speak to groups, with preparation and training.
- Take initiative and work towards agreed objectives.
- Respond positively to feedback and setbacks.
Previous hospice experience is not essential. We welcome transferable skills, enthusiasm and a willingness to develop as a fundraiser.
Working with us
We offer a supportive working environment, generous annual leave, a pension scheme, professional development, employee wellbeing support and free onsite parking.
Flexible and hybrid working arrangements sit alongside regular community visits and evening or weekend activity where required.
