- With experience leading volunteer or workforce coordination functions, you are committed to creating positive, inclusive and meaningful volunteer experiences while supporting continuous improvement and organisational excellence.
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Community Services, Business, Volunteer Management or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating volunteer recruitment, onboarding and engagement programs, ideally within the not-for-profit or community services sector.
- Proven ability to coach, lead and support teams to deliver high quality service outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple business areas.
- Sound knowledge of volunteer management practices, compliance requirements, child safety, privacy and workplace safety obligations.
- Highly organised with strong analytical, communication and process improvement skills, including experience using systems and data to support decision making and reporting.
About the role:
The Lead, Volunteer Recruitment and Engagement is responsible for leading and coordinating volunteer attraction, recruitment, onboarding and engagement activities across the St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria (SVDPV), VincentCare (VCV) and VincentCare Community Housing (VCCH). Working closely with leaders, managers and volunteer teams, this role ensures volunteer programs are effective, compliant and aligned to operational needs. As a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, the role supports the delivery of meaningful volunteer experiences while fostering an inclusive, safe and mission‑focused culture that enables volunteers, members and employees to make a positive impact in the community.
- Lead end-to-end volunteer recruitment, onboarding and engagement activities across the organisation.
- Partner with leaders and managers to identify volunteer workforce needs and develop targeted recruitment strategies.
- Ensure volunteer programs, processes and practices are compliant, accessible and aligned with organisational policies and legislative requirements.
- Develop initiatives that strengthen volunteer engagement, recognition, retention and overall volunteer experience.
- Provide expert advice and support to leaders and teams on volunteer management, onboarding and engagement practices.
- Lead, coach and support the HR Business Partner, Volunteers, to deliver high quality and consistent services.
- Monitor volunteer data, systems and reporting to drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency and positive outcomes.
