We currently have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team, providing key SEN support within the classroom and working closely with other teaching staff to ensure provision is effective and that learning needs are met. This is a one-year fixed contract.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll provide personalised SEN provision, supporting the pupils in accessing the curriculum at an appropriate level and adapting the learning to make it accessible for students with specific needs. This role also involves providing pastoral support, and you'll monitor progress to feed back to the class teacher whilst working closely with relevant staff to ensure an individual can achieve to the fullest extent.
Responsibilities:- Provide personalised SEN provision and adapt learning to meet the needs of pupils with specific needs.
- Support pupils in accessing the curriculum at an appropriate level and monitor progress.
- Provide pastoral support and communicate progress to class teachers and relevant staff.
- GCSE English and Maths at C grade or above.
- Experience of supporting pupils with SEN and utilising strategies to manage behaviours and meet needs, including supporting speech and language.
- Awareness of Child Safeguarding and the latest SEN policies to implement effective provision, including working with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate pupil progress.
- Full time - 37 hours per week, term time plus 3 training days as confirmed by the school: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:00 and Friday 08:00 to 15:30.
