We are looking to appoint a Lunchtime Leader.

General

To provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and for the safety, welfare and good conduct of pupils during the midday break. The successful applicant will:

  • Be an active member of our school and contribute to the school's Christian and nurturing ethos.
  • Work as a team member.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking.

Main Duties

  • Support pupils in their social and environmental wellbeing and report any issues to staff as appropriate.
  • Support with general kitchen cleanliness before and after service.
  • Apply first aid.
  • Provide general supervision of children with regard to behaviour and good table manners.
  • Supervise children at all times during the lunch period.
  • Take responsibility for cleaning up dining hall spillages.
  • Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model.
  • Support children through their lunchtime, helping them socially and emotionally.

  • Establish good working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model.
  • Be aware of and respond appropriately to individual pupil needs ensuring effective interaction.
  • Provide specific support to pupils dependent upon their individual needs ensuring their safety.
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others.
  • Promote self-esteem and independence.

Support for the School

  • Be aware of and comply with school policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection.
  • Report all concerns to the appropriate person (as named in the policy concerned).
  • Ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Contribute to the school ethos, aims and development/improvement plan.
  • Appreciate and support the role of other professionals.
  • Attend relevant meetings as required.
  • Participate in training and other learning activities as required.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school e.g. PTA events such as fairs and discos.
