Schedule
Term time only, 5 days per week, 9.00 am – 13.30 pm.
Responsibilities
Join a team of learning support assistants under the direction of class teachers, supporting lessons and running interventions while supporting a year 2 child with a category of need "Communication and Interaction". The child presents with significant difficulties in emotional regulation, impulse control and tolerating everyday demands. You will support the child with turn‑taking, social communication, emotional awareness, social boundaries, sustaining attention and focus, completing tasks, movement and sensory breaks, adult‑supported transitions and developing the child’s independence with learning tasks and expressive language skills.
Suitable candidates will be able to interact with a wide range of children, encourage the most from the children and support groups of pupils and individuals, including those with additional needs. Candidates must work as part of a team and liaise with other staff members with good communication, initiative, flexibility and professional behaviour.
Qualifications and Skills
Good numeracy and literacy skills – GCSE or equivalent in English and maths highly desirable. A good standard of English and mathematics is required. Organisation, communication and teamwork abilities are essential.
