About the role

We are seeking to appoint a caring, highly motivated person to join a team of professionals working with children and students with a wide range of complex needs including physical, learning difficulties and medical needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work full‑time or part‑time (37 hours per week) on term‑time plus non‑pupil days.
  • Provide care and support to pupils aged 12‑19, including those with physical and neurological impairments.
  • Liaise with teachers and other professionals to support education targets during residential placements at The View.
  • Ensure safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
  • Participate in enhanced DBS checks, medical clearance and satisfactory references.
  • Dedicate contract hours to Level 3 Diploma study and preparation days.

Pay and Conditions

  • Pay: £22,865.05 (actual salary; award pending after 1 year and completion of Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, funded by Southview School).
  • Contract: Permanent; term‑time plus non‑pupil days, including night‑awake shifts.
