About the role: Moulsham High School is a larger than average 11‑18 comprehensive school where all students consistently achieve highly. Overall progress and attainment have been well above Essex and national averages for 8 years, consistently placing the school in the top 16% of all schools nationally. The mutual respect shown between pupils and staff ensures that learning takes place in a cordial environment. Classrooms are welcoming places (Ofsted 2024).
We are looking for an experienced business studies specialist to lead our highly successful Business Studies and Economics team. The ability to also teach economics is desirable but not essential. In line with the school's ethos, Business Studies and Economics is staffed solely by subject specialists. Staff are based in three adjacent classrooms, each of which is wireless‑networked, equipped with at least one SmartScreen and contains at least thirty computers.
As Subject Leader, the successful candidate will be accountable for the outcomes reached by all students in business studies and economics, including those with SEND or who are disadvantaged. Take up for both subjects at G.C.S.E. and A level is high. The faculty also offers BTEC Business at Levels 2 and 3. This role represents a fantastic platform for further promotion to Head of Faculty and beyond.
