Role Description

The successful candidate will work with children individually, in small groups and in classrooms, including teaching some classes when teachers have release time. The role also involves a pastoral element: providing a listening ear and support to children who find emotions and life experiences challenging. The successful candidate will support all pupils, including those with additional needs, and must be enthusiastic, positive, and able to work independently while following direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and support pupils in the learning environment, including giving lessons as arranged.
  • Provide pastoral support and a listening ear to children.
  • Work independently and as part of the teaching team, following direction.
  • Assist pupils with additional educational needs.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 in learning support/early years or equivalent qualification/experience, meeting Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards.
  • High standard of written and spoken English.
  • Strong work ethic and flexibility to respond positively to daily school challenges.
  • Willingness to undertake further training.
  • Previous experience in a Primary School LSA role.
  • Experience of EYFS desirable.

Additional Requirements

Successful candidates must pass satisfactory references, an enhanced DBS check and medical clearance. All appointments are subject to safe recruitment requirements.
