We are seeking an efficient and self-motivated clerk to our governing body for our friendly, busy school working 97 hours per year, term time only. The hours are spread over 4 full governing body meetings, a budget setting meeting and 9 committee meetings throughout the year. Meetings usually start at 7.00pm with one committee convening at 4.30pm. At present we operate a mixture of meetings in person and also by Teams.
The clerk is accountable to the governing body and duties include:
- Preparing and circulating the agendas and paperwork for the meetings in consultation with the chairpersons and the headteacher ensuring all appropriate follow up action has been taken.
- Attending and taking minutes at the meetings recording discussions and decisions accurately and objectively and then finalising and circulating minutes.
You will need excellent communication skills, a high standard of literacy, IT proficiency and be able to observe confidentiality.
