We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and proactive Finance Officer to join our Central Finance Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong financial background who is keen to develop their skills and gain experience across a broad range of finance and administrative functions within a busy and collaborative school environment. Working closely with our Finance Manager and CFOO, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the schools within our Trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage correspondence including emails and telephone queries
  • Process purchase orders and support staff with supplier and pricing queries
  • Process invoices accurately and promptly, ensuring correct matching to purchase orders and goods received
  • Process BACS payments
  • Maintain accurate financial records within Access Finance to support payment and reconciliation processes
  • Process charge card transactions as required
  • Support the preparation of cash and cheques for banking
  • Assist in maintaining the asset register
  • Support the administration of Parentpay/Scopay including school trips
  • Assist with ensuring catering income and numbers are accurately recorded
  • Support with the preparation of year‑end documentation and audits (internal and external)
  • Undertake lettings administration including raising sales invoices

About You

  • Demonstrable experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident using financial systems and Microsoft office applications including Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work independently
  • Proactive, with a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities
  • Committed to maintaining confidentiality and high levels of accuracy
