- Position: Premises Manager – Essex Schools Project (Woodlands, Chelmsford)
Responsibilities
- Manage the onsite premises team and subcontractor activity providing caretaking service within the school.
- Comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including Health and Safety legislation, safe systems of work, COSHH and water systems.
- Ensure all planned and reactive maintenance is carried out as determined by PPM plan, Helpdesk, and line manager.
- Monitor and ensure the cleanliness of the school premises and furnishings, reporting any deficiencies to the Helpdesk.
- Support the school and comply with school‑based procedures in the event of fire, flood, breaking and entering, accident or major damage; respond to emergencies outside normal working hours.
- Prepare the school premises and site for assemblies, meetings and out‑of‑school activities, managing any clean‑up thereafter.
- Execute routine and non‑routine opening of premises and grounds.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work outside standard hours (8–5 pm) when required.
- Maintenance or handyperson experience.
- Computer and mobile device proficiency.
- Planning and prioritising skills.
