We are seeking a caring and dependable Kitchen Assistant to support the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals for our Residents. Working as part of a small team, you'll help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment while supporting the dietary needs of elderly and vulnerable individuals.

  • Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and refreshments tailored to Residents' dietary requirements
  • Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, following food hygiene and safety protocols
  • Clean and sanitise equipment, surfaces, and utensils after use
  • Wash dishes and manage kitchen waste disposal
  • Support with food deliveries: unpacking, storing, and rotating stock
  • Ensure food is stored, labelled, and dated correctly
  • Keep the kitchen plus outside food and freezer stores clean and tidy at all times
  • Help set up and clear dining areas if needed
  • Prepare light meals
  • Ideally be able to cook on an adhoc basis to cover holidays/sickness
  • Report any kitchen maintenance or safety issues promptly
  • Work respectfully and compassionately in a care home environment, recognising the needs of Residents
