We are seeking a caring and dependable Kitchen Assistant to support the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals for our Residents. Working as part of a small team, you'll help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment while supporting the dietary needs of elderly and vulnerable individuals.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and refreshments tailored to Residents' dietary requirements
- Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, following food hygiene and safety protocols
- Clean and sanitise equipment, surfaces, and utensils after use
- Wash dishes and manage kitchen waste disposal
- Support with food deliveries: unpacking, storing, and rotating stock
- Ensure food is stored, labelled, and dated correctly
- Keep the kitchen plus outside food and freezer stores clean and tidy at all times
- Help set up and clear dining areas if needed
- Prepare light meals
- Ideally be able to cook on an adhoc basis to cover holidays/sickness
- Report any kitchen maintenance or safety issues promptly
- Work respectfully and compassionately in a care home environment, recognising the needs of Residents
Hours: 7am - 3pm.
Days to work:
- Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday
- Week 2 - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday
