St Swithun’s is seeking a committed and flexible Management Accountant to play a key role supporting the full range of finance activities across the school. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in providing professional, thoughtful and efficient finance support in a busy and dynamic school community.

Working alongside the Head of Finance and the wider Bursary team, the Management Accountant will play a key part in delivering a high-quality service to the school (prep and senior), Letting Co Subsidiary and the Bramston Foundation CIO. The Management Accountant will contribute to all finance activities, including financial analysis, reporting, budget management, VAT management, compliance and process improvements.

You will support the payroll officer with payroll activities, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for staff and the accounts team processing invoices. You will be encouraged to ask questions, share ideas and suggest improvements to processes; contributing to the continuous development of the department.

The successful candidate will keep up-to-date with changes to financial legislation and have a solid understanding of producing statutory accounts and experience of audit management. You will build strong working relationships across the school community, combining professionalism and empathy to ensure fair, consistent and effective financial solutions and compliance.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a high-calibre qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent) with excellent management, communication and technical skills along with commercial acumen. This is a new permanent position at St Swithun's. The role is intended to be full-time (40 hours per week), but we would also be pleased to hear from candidates looking for part time work of at least 30 hours per week. The role is based at the school.

Salary

The salary for this role will be dependent on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate and is anticipated to be between £40,000 and £45,000.
