The governors of St Swithun’s C of E Primary Academy are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and suitably qualified person who can demonstrate flexibility and adaptability. At St Swithun’s, all members of staff are highly motivated to ensure our children are happy and fulfil their potential, academically and socially. The successful applicant will be given an opportunity to work in a creative environment, alongside enthusiastic and dedicated teachers and support staff. We are seeking to appoint an experienced practitioner with good experience of working with children with SEND.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the teaching staff in the delivery of educational activities and programmes of learning to individuals and small groups of children.
  • Work with small groups of children with a range of needs and provide one-to-one supervision for part of the working day (Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pm).
  • Help maintain a safe, caring and stimulating learning environment.
  • Uphold and demonstrate the school values at all times.
  • Carry out any other duties relevant to the post as required by the Headteacher.
  • Fully support and uphold the Christian ethos of the school.
  • Be physically able to complete manual handling training for a child with a physical disability.
