Teaching Assistant Grade 2 in Retford

The governors of St Swithun’s C of E Primary Academy are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and suitably qualified person who can demonstrate flexibility and adaptability. The successful applicant will be given an opportunity to work in a creative environment, alongside enthusiastic and dedicated teachers and support staff. We are seeking to appoint an experienced practitioner with good experience of working with children with SEND.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teaching staff in the delivery of educational activities and programmes of learning to individuals and small groups of children.
• Work with small groups of children with a range of needs and provide one-to-one supervision for part of the working day (Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pm).
• Help maintain a safe, caring and stimulating learning environment.
• Uphold and demonstrate the school values at all times.
• Carry out any other duties relevant to the post as required by the Headteacher.
• Fully support and uphold the Christian ethos of the school.
• Be physically able to complete manual handling training for a child with a physical disability.
