St Saviour CE Primary School is seeking a Special Needs Assistant (SEN Support Year 3) to work part-time during term time plus 5 days, starting from 1st September 2026 until 31st August 2027.
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Working Hours: 3 hours daily, 8.45am - 11.45am
Salary: Grade D SCP 6-11 with SNA Allowance

The Role:
- Deliver and support learning activities based on plans devised by the class teacher.
- Support the pupil during morning lessons and school routines.
- Adapt activities to make learning engaging, creative, and enjoyable.
- Build positive relationships that promote confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
- Maintain clear, consistent, and firm behaviour expectations.
- Help the pupil access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals involved in supporting the pupil.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with children with SEN, particularly SEMH needs.
- Is patient, positive, and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Can make academic tasks fun, motivating, and inspiring.
- Is creative in adapting activities and finding engaging ways to support learning.
- Has strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Can provide consistent boundaries and behaviour support.
- Is committed to promoting inclusion and pupil wellbeing.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience supporting children with SEMH needs in a primary school setting.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special educational needs.
