An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the nursing team at St. Rocco's Hospice. We are looking to recruit a Palliative Virtual Ward and Hub Staff Nurse. The successful applicant should be an enthusiastic nurse who strives to ensure high standards of patient care are maintained in accordance with St Rocco's Hospice policies, procedures and guidelines.

You will work under the direction of the Community Outreach Services Lead in aspects of management, leadership and co-ordination of the Palliative Care Virtual Ward, ensuring high standards of patient care are maintained in accordance with all St. Rocco’s Hospice policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Operational Responsibilities:
  • To take responsibility of the virtual ward caseload and the associated day-to-day work allocation and management duties.
  • To undertake an in-depth holistic first assessment visit, enable service users to access remote monitoring technology, plan, implement and evaluate care in line with care plan.

Applicants must be on the NMC register and be fully qualified RGN / Adults with a minimum of 12 months post-registration experience, preferably in palliative care. In addition to your proven clinical skills, we are looking for excellent communication skills, empathy and sensitivity, good team working and a flexible approach to the role.

Additional unsociable hour enhancements will be paid for weekend and bank holiday work - T&Cs apply. Shift patterns will be discussed at interview, breaks are unpaid.

St. Rocco's are the lead provider for the Palliative Virtual Ward. Working collaboratively with system partners, the virtual ward is an innovative way of working, using technology to further expand the care we provide and ensure choice for the people of Warrington who need our services.

Benefits T&C's Apply: Contributory Company Group Pension Plan (NHS Pension Scheme members have the option of continuing in this scheme), Life Assurance, Medical Cash Plan, annual holiday entitlement is 7 working weeks, inclusive of all public holiday entitlement. Part-time staff annual holiday entitlement accrues on a pro-rata basis. Posts are not salary incremental, pay reviews are at the discretion of the Hospice.
