As Back of House Supervisor, you will lead and support the Stewarding team in delivering the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and operational efficiency across all kitchen and food & beverage areas, ensuring equipment, utensils and back-of-house spaces are maintained to luxury standards while supporting culinary and banqueting operations. Bringing a hands-on and organised approach, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment, driving team performance and ensuring exceptional operational excellence behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and support the stewarding team to ensure efficient cleaning and operational processes
- Assist with the allocation of tasks and ensure smooth workflow during service periods
- Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards
- Monitor water temperatures and chemical levels for cleaning processes, ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including dishwashing machines and waste systems
- Support kitchen teams with plate-ups, equipment provision and service preparation
- Ensure adequate stock levels of clean equipment, utensils and supplies across all outlets
- Oversee the transportation, storage and organisation of kitchen equipment and service items
- Assist with recruitment, training and development of stewarding team members
- Provide coaching and guidance to ensure consistent performance and engagement
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of back-of-house areas, including pot wash and storage rooms
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, hygiene and food handling regulations
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards and operational concerns promptly
- Maintain a professional approach and support a positive team environment
- Proven supervisory experience in stewarding or kitchen operations, ideally within a luxury hotel environment
- Strong understanding of hygiene, sanitation and health & safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
