Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity to grow your skills and be part of a dynamic team?
We’re seeking a bank Registered Nurse band 5 to join our staff in a hospice setting providing compassionate, holistic care to patients with life-limiting illnesses. Working bank shifts as part of a multidisciplinary palliative care team, the post holder supports the In-patient Unit Clinical Lead /Nurse in Charge and Senior Staff Nurses and assists in developing an environment in keeping with values and behaviours of the Hospice.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
- Registered general nurse.
- Evidence of continued professional development and statutory mandatory training.
- General nursing experience.
- Understanding of specialist palliative care.
- Knowledge of current clinical and professional issues relating to palliative care.
- Understanding of governance.
- Committed to maintaining own personal learning and development.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Good numeracy skills.
- Willingness to develop new skills.
- Ability to assess, plan and implement high standards of care.
- Can work independently but also as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good time management skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Must be able to work at short notice
- Must be willing to work a minimum of 1 shift every 3 months.
Desirable
- Qualification in palliative care.
- Degree or working towards.
- Mentorship course.
- Specialist palliative care experience.
- Audit/research experience.
- Experience supervising junior staff.
- Mentoring experience.
- Experience of using databases.
