The Category Executive will support the Category Management Team in driving category growth through effective management of product assortment and delivering insights. This role involves analysing market trends, assisting in developing category strategies, and working closely with cross-functional teams to optimise category performance. The Category Executive will contribute to achieving sales and profitability targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyse sales, market, and shopper data to identify trends, understand consumer behaviour, and develop compelling business cases and reports.
- Supporting the Category & Insights team with regular monthly reporting and ad hoc initiatives
- Work with internal sales & marketing teams to ensure category strategies align with company goals.
- Prepare and present clear and concise reports on category performance to highlight trends, issues, and recommendations.
- Create, develop and drive Category Management service with specific customers to increase sales and achieve customer business targets.
- Manage product portfolio within customers to grow distribution to drive category and St Pierre sales (NPD and tail management)
- Monitor and manage in-store tactics, such as product placement, pricing, and promotions, to ensure effective execution and evaluate their impact.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in category management, retail, or a related field. Experience in the specific industry of the category is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyse data and market trends to inform category strategies.
- Strategic Planning: Understanding of basic strategic planning concepts and their application to category management.
- Problem-Solving: Aptitude for identifying problems and developing effective solutions.
