The Demand Planner is responsible for building accurate and well understood demand forecasts across global markets within a 12-month horizon. This role plays a key part in bringing together data, commercial insight and business inputs to create a clear view of future demand. By working closely with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Planning, the Demand Planner ensures forecasts are realistic, clearly understood, and provide a strong foundation for business decision making. A strong focus of the role is turning data into insight, challenging assumptions, and clearly communicating risks and opportunities within the demand plan.

Key Accountabilities

  • Demand Forecasting & Planning
    • Build and maintain demand forecasts for a 12-month horizon.
    • Ensure forecasts are accurate, timely and aligned to agreed planning cycles.
    • Clearly document assumptions, risks, and opportunities within the forecast.
    • Provide a forward-looking view of demand to support supply planning.
  • Data Analysis & Forecast Construction
    • Bring together data from multiple sources including sales inputs, historical trends and marketing activity.
    • Analyse data to identify patterns, risks and opportunities that inform the forecast.
    • Challenge inputs and assumptions where needed to improve forecast quality.
    • Ensure demand plans are based on consistent, reliable and well understood data.
  • Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
    • Work closely with Commercial to gather and validate inputs.
    • Act as a key point of contact for demand data and forecast detail.
    • Ensure stakeholders are aware of and understand the most up to date forecast.
    • Clearly communicate changes, risks and key assumptions between forecast versions.
    • Build strong working relationships to ensure open, honest and constructive communication.
  • Supply Planning & S&OP Support
    • Provide clear and structured demand inputs to support supply and capacity planning.
    • Identify and flag demand risks, volatility and step changes as part of the planning cycle.
    • Support the S&OP Lead with clear data, insights and supporting analysis.
    • Ensure demand updates are communicated in line with agreed processes.
  • Performance & Insight
    • Monitor forecast accuracy and identify trends or bias.
    • Conduct root cause analysis on forecast variance to flag risk and recommend improvements.
    • Translate data into clear insights to support decision making.
    • Support continuous improvement of forecast quality and reliability.
  • Process & Continuous Improvement
    • Support the ongoing improvement of demand planning processes and ways of working.
    • Identify opportunities to simplify processes and reduce manual effort.
    • Contribute to improving tools, data quality, and overall planning effectiveness.

Skills & Experience

  • Essential
    • Experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, or Demand Analysis.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with and interpret data.
    • Experience working cross functionally with multiple stakeholders.
    • Good understanding of how demand planning supports supply and business decisions.
    • Clear communication skills with the confidence to challenge and influence.
  • Desirable
    • Experience in FMCG or fast paced environments.
    • Exposure to S&OP or integrated business planning processes.
    • Experience using forecasting or planning tools.
