Our Residential Care Home is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Maintenance Operative to assist in the day to day running of a busy and vibrant care establishment. Reporting to the Care Centre Manager, the incumbent will carry out day to day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds to ensure that the Home is maintained in a safe, efficient and functional order.

Responsibilities

  • To carry out general maintenance as required throughout the home.
  • To ensure the home is in good decorative order at all times.
  • To ensure all external areas and grounds are kept tidy and well maintained to ensure the smart appearance of the home.
  • To supervise outside contractors.
  • To minimize costs by monitoring energy consumption and maintaining written records.
  • To upkeep all health and safety records and the periodic testing of appliances and functional items within the home.
  • Expectation for post holder to respond to emergency situations within the home.

Qualifications

  • A flexible approach to work.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • High standard of DIY including internal and external decoration.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with outside agencies.
  • An understanding of heating systems.
  • A basic understanding of electrical appliances.
  • An ability to maintain accurate inspection records.
