The role of a senior carer is an important and valued role within the Health & Social Care industry. You will lead, develop, and coordinate a team of care workers to provide the highest standards of care to our residents, ensuring their dignity is always maintained.
Job Role: To support the Manager in the overall management of the home. Assume responsibilities of the Manager in their absence. Create an environment that respects the rights and wishes of residents, encouraging person-centred care and maximising independence.
The successful candidate will join a close-knit, friendly team committed to delivering quality service.
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Understanding and providing for the health needs of residents and understanding the impact of continued care on clients and families.
- Assisting residents with daily care needs they would normally undertake themselves if able.
- Participating in holistic caring activities.
- Caring for residents' needs to promote their independence.
- Ensuring residents participate in care planning and reviews.
- Managing care plans, medication, and care delivery for assigned residents.
- Respecting residents' right to confidentiality.
- Assisting with moving, handling, dressing, and hygiene needs.
- Monitoring and reporting changes in residents' conditions.
- Reporting hazards or unsafe equipment to the Manager.
- Attending mandatory in-service training and staff development sessions.
- Delivering services in accordance with policies, procedures, and best practices.
Desirable qualifications and experience include:
- NVQ Level 3 / MA Level 3 in Health and Social Care or working towards it.
- Previous experience as a senior in a Residential Care or Nursing Home.
- A passion for elderly care.
- Experience in medication administration.
