Responsibilities
- Understanding and providing the requirements for “normal” health and the effects on the client and family when continued care is needed.
- Assisting the client in any area of daily care needs normally undertaken independently.
- Participating in holistic caring activities.
- Providing care for all client needs to optimise their independence.
- Reading and acting on the Care Plans of each client to promote continuity of care.
- Respecting the right of the individual to confidentiality.
- Moving, handling, dressing, and assisting residents with daily hygiene and dressing needs.
- Observing and reporting any changes in residents’ condition.
- Reporting hazards or unsafe equipment to Senior staff.
- Attending any in-service training as part of staff development and mandatory legal training.
Qualifications
- Previous experience of care work in a hospital, care, or nursing home.
- A passion for caring for the elderly.
- NVQ2/SVQ2 or QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care or Care.
