St Peter’s Preparatory School, Lympstone is seeking a dedicated, proactive and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with Moderate Learning Difficulties and a range of associated needs. This role is central to enabling the child’s academic, social and emotional development.

The ideal candidate will bring experience of working 1:1 with children who have additional needs, particularly in the areas of cognition and learning, speech and language, and social communication. You will play a key role in planning, preparing and delivering an individualised programme of support in line with the pupil’s Education Health Care Plan (EHCP), contributing to assessment and record‑keeping, and promoting independence, wellbeing and progress.

A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is essential, and confidence with IT to create and adapt resources is important. This is a term-time only position, working 20 hours per week (including INSET days): Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 08:30-13:00 and Tuesdays, Thursdays 08:45-12:00. The salary is £10,168 per annum (including paid holiday entitlement), which will be paid in twelve equal monthly instalments. The position is linked to external funding.
