We are looking for a friendly & helpful Removals Porter Driver to provide an efficient clearance and furniture collection service across the greater Bristol and surrounding areas.
You will be working as part of the Retail Logistics Team out of our warehouse in Avonmouth, mainly within the Furniture and House Clearance team and with occasional support for our shops and other areas of the charity.
The warehouse (Victoria Road, Avonmouth BS11 9DB) is near the park and ride and we also have free parking onsite – your day will start and finish from this point.
No experience is necessary as full training will be given.
The details:
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days in am – 4.00pm)
- Salary: £25, ,917, per annum dependent on experience
- Permanent position
Duties to include:
- Carry out house clearances, ensuring the safe loading of the van
- Collect and deliver furniture
- Dispose of unwanted items from a clearance in the appropriate manner
- Stock movement between all St Peter\’s Hospice shops
- Logistics support for events and Fundraising (usually one major event per year)
The ideal candidate will:
- Be able to use their own initiative
- Be able to work without constant supervision
- Be able to manage workload and work to deadlines/schedules
- Be able to deal politely with members of the public
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively, and understand instructions and customer needs
- Have good team working skills
- Have knowledge of the local area
Please note –
This is a physically demanding role; you will need to be able to unload volumes of items on a daily basis.
Candidates MUST be over 21 for insurance purposes
Candidates MUST have a valid clean manual UK driving license and have held it for over 3 years.
