St Peter’s Collegiate Academy is looking for a practical, reliable and energetic Caretaker to join our estates team. This is a hands‑on role at the heart of school life. You will help keep our site safe, secure, clean and well‑maintained for more than 1,350 students, staff and visitors every day. We need someone who takes pride in their work, notices the small things, and understands that a well‑run site makes a real difference to the education and wellbeing of young people.
The successful candidate will also be eligible for on‑site accommodation in a detached three‑bedroom house, with private driveway and gardens, offered at a heavily reduced rental rate under a service occupancy agreement with the Trust.
You will support with:
- opening, closing and securing the site
- carrying out routine checks, including fire and alarm systems
- first‑line maintenance, minor repairs and general redecoration
- keeping the site clean, tidy and safe in all weather conditions
- dealing with day‑to‑day site issues, including leaks, blockages and waste disposal
- supporting contractors and maintaining accurate site records
- driving and checking the school minibus
We are looking for someone with experience in site maintenance, premises, facilities or a similar practical role. A level 3 in Building Maintenance, Estates Services or a related discipline would be an advantage, but the right attitude, reliability and commitment matter just as much. The successful candidate will be organised, flexible and confident working around both adults and children. You will be a visible and trusted member of the academy community, helping to create a safe, welcoming environment that reflects the values and ambition of St Peter’s Collegiate Academy.
