St Peter’s is looking for an enthusiastic part-time Design and Technology Technician to join our friendly team as soon as possible, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time.
Pay Scale: PS4 £25,052 to £26,825 FTE (Actual salary £20,953 to £22,436)
St Peter's is a renowned successful school and Sixth Form in Guildford. We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team as technician to the Design & Technology Department. This individual will be required to manage and maintain our workshops and equipment as well as managing orders and preparing materials. They will also be required on staff request to be present in lessons to support students’ practical work.

About the Design Technology Department:
We currently teach Textiles, Product Design, Food & Nutrition (which has its own dedicated technician) and Architecture. We have a wide range of up to date well maintained equipment with six subject specific teaching rooms. As a team we are friendly, hardworking, positive and passionate about our subject. We work hard to develop exciting projects that will capture imaginations and make learning fun. We share ideas and resources and work in a highly effective and collaborative way.
About You:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Technician of Design Technology ideally with a knowledge of wood and metalworking machinery and techniques. A successful applicant will ideally have budgeting and basic IT skills. We are particularly interested in individuals who are willing to embrace learning new technologies such as CNC equipment. We also need a technician who thrives working with young people and puts them at the heart of everything they do.
