As our Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser, you’ll play a key role in generating income that supports the compassionate care provided by St Peter & St James Hospice. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll identify new funding opportunities, create compelling grant applications, and build lasting relationships with funders who share our vision. Job Details

  • Location: St Peter & St James Hospice, North Common Road, North Chailey, BN8 4ED
  • Salary: £24,633 - £27,142 pro rata (£30,791 - £33,928 full-time equivalent per annum)
  • Hours: 30 hours per week (over 4 days)
  • Contract: Permanent, part-time

What you'll be doing

  • Research, write and submit high-quality funding applications to trusts and foundations, securing income for core services and priority projects.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of funding opportunities, ensuring potential sources of support are identified and maximised.
  • Work collaboratively with operational teams to gather information and develop compelling cases for support.
  • Build and nurture relationships with existing and prospective funders, helping them understand the impact of their support.
  • Coordinate the submission of monitoring and evaluation reports, ensuring all funder requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Monitor funding pledges, payment schedules and received income, reporting progress and risks to the Head of Fundraising.
  • Maintain accurate records on the fundraising CRM and ensure all administration is completed to a high standard.
  • Ensure fundraising activities comply with relevant regulations, ethical fundraising standards and best practice.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in trust and foundation fundraising within a charity environment, with a track record of securing grants from a range of funders.
  • Exceptional written communication skills and the ability to create compelling, persuasive funding applications.
  • A confident and adaptable communicator who can tailor funding proposals to meet individual funder priorities.
  • A good understanding of restricted and unrestricted funding, budgets and financial reporting requirements.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience using Raiser's Edge NXT or a similar CRM system, together with a data-driven approach to fundraising.
  • A proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach to work.
