St Paul’s Way Trust School, in association with Queen Mary University of London, is seeking to appoint an outstanding qualified Teacher of Music. This is an excellent career opportunity for a colleague who is passionate about the entitlement of young people to have a rich experience in the performing arts.

Working within a vibrant and successful creative arts faculty, you will be an outstanding classroom teacher with a passionate commitment to the progress of all students in our heavily oversubscribed school. The successful candidate will have an unwavering belief in the potential of every student. S/he will do what it takes to ensure that students achieve their best, and will have the contagious enthusiasm for the subject which excites and motivates students.

The school is committed to developing provision in music to the highest level. We have excellent facilities including a fully-equipped 250 seat theatre, high-quality upright and grand pianos and music technology equipment including Logic and Sibelius in all music teaching rooms. Music is becoming increasingly popular at each Key Stage.

We work closely with the Barbican and the Tower Hamlets Music Service to provide a vibrant extended curriculum programme that provides opportunities for all students to become actively involved in making music. From September 2014, we have been admitting up to 12 places in Year 7 for Music Scholars and we are continuing to develop a range of distinctive opportunities for these gifted and talented students with strong links to our Higher Education partners.

Having become a “Through School” in September 2014, the Music department works closely with the Primary team regarding the provision of the music curriculum. Our award winning new building is situated in the heart of East London. Professor Brian Cox OBE is our Patron.
