Responsibilities

  • Leadership of a year group to ensure that all students are supported to make the best progress academically and socially, and to remove barriers which prevent them from doing so.
  • Leadership of a team of tutors to ensure the highest quality of pastoral support is provided for all students in the year group.
  • Monitoring and responding to performance data including but not limited to; academic attainment, progress, attendance, rewards and sanctions, vulnerability index, safeguarding.
  • Establishing, nurturing and maintaining constructive relationships with students and their families to ensure there is joint partnership working in the best interests of students.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the teaching and inclusion faculties to support students in the year group to access the curriculum, make informed decisions about their next stages in education and engage fully with the range of opportunities available to them both within and beyond lessons.

About You

  • A fully qualified teacher with evidence of QTS for secondary teaching.
  • Qualified to at least degree level in subject area and/or good A Levels or equivalent.
  • Up to date knowledge of the relevant curriculum area.
  • Unrelenting in your pursuit of excellence in all aspects of your practice.
  • Successful in working with young people and securing the best outcomes for them.
