Senior Cover Supervisor in London

Your Role

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and resilient Cover Supervisor to join our committed staff team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and making a difference in the lives of young people.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning, maintaining high standards of behaviour, and contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture.

Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral leaders and support teams, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, deliver intervention programmes, support students' personal development and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.
• Deliver pre-planned learning activities and support students in completing set work.
• Maintain positive behaviour and high expectations in line with school policies.
• Take registers and accurately record attendance, rewards and behaviour incidents.
• Provide feedback to teachers regarding student engagement, behaviour and progress.
• Support students with their learning and encourage them to become independent learners.
• Assist with literacy, numeracy and other targeted intervention programmes.
• Undertake form tutor responsibilities, including registration activities and pastoral support.
• Support student attendance, wellbeing and personal development initiatives.
• Work effectively alongside Learning Support Assistants and other support staff.
• Assist with examinations, educational visits and wider school activities.
• Undertake administrative duties to support teaching and learning where required.

• Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.

Qualifications

At least 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent. Please state all subjects and grades.
