Auxiliary Nurses, Adult Inpatient Unit - Multiple posts available

Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne

Salary: Base salary £24,853 - £25,491 per annum full time (plus allowance for unsocial hours)

This role is open until 29 July 2026.

We are seeking dedicated Auxiliary Nurses to support our Adult Inpatient Unit in providing compassionate, end‑of‑life care. You will work as part of a busy, multidisciplinary team, communicating with patients, families, staff and volunteers. The successful candidate will have experience caring for patients with life‑limiting conditions and must be qualified to N.V.Q level 2.

Available posts:

  • Full time – 37.5 hours per week, predominantly day shift with some rotation to nights; permanent or 12‑month fixed term contract.
  • Part time – 22.5 hours per week, predominantly day shift with some rotation to nights; 12‑month fixed term contract.
  • Part time – 21.5 hours per week, predominantly night shift with some rotation to days; permanent contract.

Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic nursing care to patients and families in a hospice setting.
  • Support patients with life‑limiting conditions and assist families with emotional and practical needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and volunteers to deliver high quality care.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to N.V.Q level 2.
  • Previous experience working with patients who have life‑limiting conditions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
