St Nicholas of Tolentine Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work as part of a busy team, starting in September to support our SEN children and more widely in the classroom.
We are looking for a support member of staff with a passion for supporting the learning of our children with Special Educational Needs. Our school serves a diverse community, where, as recognised by Ofsted, "inclusion is at the heart of the school" and there is "a real sense of belonging" for both pupils and staff. Responsibilities:
- Supporting individual pupils and small groups to access learning and make progress
- Working alongside teachers to create a safe, purposeful and inclusive learning environment
- Delivering and reviewing targeted interventions
- Supporting pupils' social, emotional and personal development
- Working collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals to support pupil success
Requirements:
- Has a commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school
- Has experience of working in a school setting
- Has experience of working with children with SEN and to have some experience with children who have English as an additional language
- Has a commitment to helping children achieve their potential
- Has the ability to show initiative and adapt to the needs of the role
- Has a willingness to work well as part of the team
- Who are determined, resilient and have high expectations of themselves and others
- Who is flexible, has a good sense of humour and has an understanding of the "bigger picture"
