St Nicholas Hospice Care is a local charity supporting nearly 2,000 people every year across West Suffolk and Thetford. We provide care in multiple settings, offering specialist clinical support, practical help, and services for families, carers, and those experiencing bereavement.
We are recruiting for a People Advisor to join our small, fast-paced and supportive HR team. The role is key in helping us to embed a positive culture and to support wellbeing, people development, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
As a People Adviser, you will provide responsive and proactive support across the full employee lifecycle, including:
- Recruitment
- Onboarding
- Retention
- Colleague engagement
- Learning and development
- A range of people-focused projects
You will play an important part in helping us make St Nicholas Hospice a great place to work, learn, and grow. This is a hybrid role with the opportunity to work from home between 1 and 2 days a week. The role will also involve regular travel to our retail outlets in Bury St Edmunds and across West Suffolk.

- CIPD Level 5 qualified
- Experience coaching and advising managers
- Strong working knowledge of employment law and its practical application
- Confident in handling a broad range of HR activity within a busy environment
