St Nicholas Hospice Care is a successful charity serving the local area of West Suffolk and Thetford. Every year we support nearly 2,000 local people, delivering care across multiple settings. Our services are not just for patients, but for their family and friends too, and include everything from specialist medical care to bereavement support and practical help.
We currently have an opportunity for a Catering Assistant to join our established Catering Department for 6 hours per week. The successful candidate will contribute to the production of a high quality catering service to meet the changing needs of the organisation whilst complying with health and hygiene regulations. The role includes working across hospice sites as business need determines including our Haven Café in Haverhill.
Brief description of duties:
- Undertake basic preparation of food and beverages to agreed standards.
- Provide support and guidance to kitchen volunteers.
- Operating & cleaning barista coffee machine.
- Preparation & service of meals in the Bistro, including breakfasts, paninis, toasted sandwiches and other hot food.
- Assisting with catering functions within the Hospice including the preparation of food.
- Checking expiry dates of stock in kitchen.
