About us

We are a young conservative evangelical church in the heart of the City of London, seeking to know Jesus and make him known among the 500,000+ workers on our doorstep.

Since launching in 2016, our Sunday congregation has grown to around 80 adults and 20 children. Alongside Sundays, we run four midweek lunchtime talk ministries across central London; the London Bridge Talks, Fleet Street Talks, Victoria Talks and St Nick's Talks, seeking to encourage Christians in workplace witness and introduce others to Jesus.

We are committed to faithful Bible teaching, evangelism, discipleship and training, with a range of weekly Bible studies, evangelistic courses, events and ministry training. St Nick's is also home to The Wren coffee shop, providing opportunities to reach City workers with the gospel and supporting the work of the church financially.

The role

We are looking for an Assistant Minister to join our senior staff team and play a key role in preaching, discipleship, evangelism and church leadership.

The role will involve:

• Regular preaching across two of our four lunchtime talk ministries, as well as at Sunday services.
• Taking responsibility for one or two lunchtime ministries, including their practical organisation, evangelistic events and pastoral relationships.
• Contributing to the leadership and growth of our Sunday congregation.
• Leading and supporting Bible studies, evangelistic courses and other church ministries.
• Helping to organise and lead evangelistic events, alongside the wider staff team.
• Developing partnerships with other churches and gospel organisations.
• Growing in ministry and leadership through theological study, mentoring and practical experience.

We are looking for someone who…

• Is a mature and committed Christian, with a clear personal trust in Jesus and conviction in the truth of God's word.
• Has theological training through a biblically faithful establishment.
• Has experience preaching and teaching the Bible clearly, faithfully and engagingly.
• Has a heart for evangelism, discipleship and pastoral ministry.
• Is organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload.
• Builds good relationships and works well with staff, volunteers and ministry partners.
• Is humble, servant-hearted and keen to continue growing in ministry and leadership.

It is important that the post-holder is able to represent the mission and values of St Nick's in all aspects of the role and there is therefore an occupational requirement to be a mature, committed evangelical Christian, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010.
