St Nicholas Catholic High School are looking to appoint a patient, enthusiastic and hardworking individual who is looking for a challenging but very rewarding role as a Learning Mentor with specific emphasis to bridge the gap often seen by disadvantaged students. As a Learning Mentor you will be supporting disadvantaged students with a range of academic, behavioural or social issues. The successful candidate will work with a team of staff that undertakes a wide range of pastoral responsibilities within the school. This is a Permanent, Part Time Contract and is based on 32.5 hours per week over 39 weeks per year. There will be some flexibility with hours worked each day and can be discussed / agreed at interview.

Responsibilities:

  • Work 1 to 1 with students and liaise with outside agencies.
  • Support teaching and learning by making referrals and supporting students with barriers to learning.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Have the ability to work effectively as part of a team with teaching staff and outside agencies.
  • Have the experience of supporting students with mental health, social, academic and behavioural difficulties.
  • Have a willingness to manage their own time effectively, work flexibly and use their own initiative.
