We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and compassionate Deputy Manager to join Westminster Women's Safe Space, a specialist women-only hostel supporting women who are experiencing homelessness, rough sleeping, and the impact of violence against women and girls (VAWG). Located in Westminster, our service provides high-quality, trauma-informed support to women facing multiple and complex challenges. This is your chance to play a key leadership role in a service that helps women find safety, stability and a pathway towards a brighter future.

About the role

As Deputy Manager, you will work alongside the Service Manager to lead a dedicated team delivering exceptional, person-centred support. You'll help create a safe, psychologically informed environment where women can recover from trauma, rebuild confidence and work towards greater independence. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will provide operational leadership, coach and develop staff, work collaboratively with specialist partners, and ensure the service continues to deliver outstanding outcomes for residents.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the day-to-day leadership and smooth operation of a busy women-only hostel.
  • Leading, motivating and developing staff to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed support.
  • Promoting a safe, welcoming and psychologically informed environment for residents.
  • Managing incidents, safeguarding concerns, health and safety matters, and service compliance.
  • Building strong partnerships with statutory and specialist services to improve outcomes for women.
  • Assessing referrals and supporting effective case management and multi-agency working.
  • Driving a strengths-based, recovery-focused approach that empowers women to achieve their goals.

This is a full-time role, primarily working Monday to Friday during office hours, with flexibility to work outside these hours occasionally to meet the needs of the service.

About you

We're looking for a confident and empathetic leader who is passionate about supporting women facing homelessness and multiple disadvantage. You'll bring:

  • Experience working within homelessness, supported housing, VAWG, domestic abuse or related services.
  • Experience supervising or leading teams in a support or care environment.
  • A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and the barriers faced by women experiencing homelessness.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to remain calm, resilient and solutions-focused in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to empowering women and championing their strengths, choices and aspirations.

If you're an inspiring leader who believes every woman deserves safety, dignity and the opportunity to thrive, we'd love to hear from you.
